[sdiy] On shielded cable (or not) for audio

I wouldn't see shielded wiring as generally being all that useful in a modular synth, at least in most cases.  If each module has its own board and its own panel, the signals aren't going to have a lot of opportunity to interfere.

If you've got something more complicated with a bunch of different circuit boards and analog/digital signals running between them, then you might have more issues with interference (and this certainly comes into play if you're modifying something).  Maybe if you're making a super duper phono preamp/BBD driver/spring reverb/switching power supply module...
