Looks like new stock 4067 equivalents in plastic DIP packages are in a
0.6" package, as well as SOIC-24 packages for those who prefer SMD. I
don't recall that I've ever seen a 0.3" 24-pin package on those old-
style 4000-series CMOS parts though. My guess would be that the die
were too large to squeeze down into the narrow bodies and still allow
room for the leadframe.
As for general availability of 0.3" DIP packages with pins > 16, look
no further than your favorite Atmel or Microchip processors where you
can find many parts in 0.3" plastic DIPs with 28-pins. Many other
manufacturers used these in the past when DIPs were more common in
mass-produced equipment as well. These days most new stuff is SMD of
course, with chip-scale (QFN etc) packages appearing to dominate the
latest releases.
