If you're making something to integrate into the Buchla world, stay  
away from 3.5 mm jacks. Buchla systems use Switchcraft 35PM1:  http://www.switchcraft.com/products/jack-112.html

If you use 3.5 mm jacks, the Switchcraft patchcords supplied with a  
Buchla will not fit well, if at all.
