[sdiy] My son's first groove

Steffan,

Your father is a jazz musician who hates Kraftwerk?!? That sounds like a
contradiction to me! Remember the words of Thelonious Monk when asked what
kind of music he liked: "All music." When asked to clarify if this also
included Country and Western, he said, "Didn't you hear me? I said ALL
music!"

Some electronica makes brilliant jazz standards. Just ask Brad Mehldau, one
of the world's best jazz pianists, who is famous for interpreting Radiohead
songs in a piano trio format (including the unabashedly electronic
"Everything in its Right Place").
