If this is the case, I'd be inclined to clean off any flux with 
something that isn't going to un-glue the ceramic part from the brass 
disc and then spray the whole thing with a decent conformal coating and 
cure it properly - in an oven.

That should both protect the ceramic and also prevent short circuits.

Oh, I mean to do that AFTER the connection wires have been soldered on ;-)
