ok i got a hold of them and one seems to work fine, the output is low  
but not distorted or any artifacts....

the other one seems to load fine but when i play on the keys i get no  
sound at the output.

  i will reseat everything to see if that works...

maybe the keyboard needs a look at?

i noticed in the parameters that there is a local control on/off  
option so i will double check that as well!
thanks for the schematics and service manual!

i think the dsk8 is the 8-bit one and the  plain dsk is the 12-bit?

how would one tell from the inside?  which chips are the DACs?
