[sdiy] germanium transistors

I've made a couple of Dallas Rangemaster clones using old germaniums,
and I think I'd recommend the sockets. For both reasons Antti gave:
You won't destroy them with heat, and they're so variable that the
best way to get a good sound is to test a few likely candidates in
the circuit once it's built. With a socket, this is easy.
