This may seem ridiculous, but have you refreshed your view range? Try 
zooming out and you might find that component hanging outside the range 
of view that you currently have set... This happens to me often when I 
do not have airwires turned on (thus, I am not able to see the airwires 
headed off screen to the recently added component).
