Hi Paul!
To have the layout and schematics up to date you need to open both the schematics AND layout when starting your session.
Otherwise you only change the schematics and there will be no annotation to the layout. Normally Eagle tells you that this could happen if you don't open the other too.
At least if you only open the layout and change something there will be a warning.
So the safest solution is starting again from your old edition - open the layout and then add the changes again.
Maybe a lot of work (depends on your changes) but it works - you can see each change will be done also in the layout.

Guys (and girls),
I've made a change to my schematic in Eagle, but how do I update
the board layout to reflect these changes? Obviously I need to rip up
the routing, (that I can do), but what do I do after that?
