Symmetrical positive and negative pulses have no even harmonics at all.
It ~would~ sound hollow...
That is another choice in my guitar synth project. I also have a bass synth
that has a choice between a quasi-triange and a sawtooth... the triangle
sounds like a synth and the saw like a bass guitar. The even harmonics are
really obvious...
