And in addition to that restriction, I'm not aware of any dsPICs 
currently in production that have more than 32k of on-chip SRAM. 
Directly addressable off-chip memory is not supported, but indirectly 
addressed memory is always a possibility though. Several projects have 
been done using the GPIO ports to read/write a large external SRAM. This 
is slower of course, but for many audio applications it's still plenty fast.
