[sdiy] Siel LX series... really exist ?

I'm not saying they don't have good points (I have actually considered doing my own Siel Symphony, or at least making a shirt with the logo).

But I don't know of any other manufacturer whose instruments are so promising yet deeply flawed in some way or another. If they sound good, they self-destruct (DK 600). If they still work, they sound awful (MDP-40, though it has its charm). And any idea that looks good on paper is somehow let down by a bizarre and horrible implementation (CTS-2000).

I can't comment on the ARP Quartet anyway, though I concur that the interconnects suck. They suck so bad that the cables break into pieces...

Anyway, more relevant to current discussions, the filter in the Mono has highpass and bandpass responses that come from mixing the different stages of a cascaded OTA design.
