OH aaohhhh! OHhhhhhhhhhhh! :-)
Seriously Scott...I'm going to have to do a 'Siel symphony' just for
that. Hehe.
Some overlooked 'nuggets' are
1) The Siel Mono is not a bad sounding monosynth for the cheap thing it
was I've heard. No 1st hand exp. though.
2) The Siel Orchestra/ARP Quartet and Siel OR-400/SCI Prelude/Orchestra
II really for their day were one of the better sounding analog piano
sounds I think and the mix on the later model with Organ and brass is a
very cool sound with the ability to EQ and flange it etc. Fun little
units really and some good quality sounds for the technology. The
interconnects suck but as long as you change them to flexible ones hey
they're not bad reliability wise again for what they are. Standard
parts inside pretty much.
3) The DK600/opera 6 while problematic once the battery spills really
have their own realm of dominance. Rarely a problem on the analog
board. A 100% analog synth that says "DCO" because it had divide down
from two analog oscillators like I said recently in the wiki thing. But
you can really pull some rich sounds out of it. And the DK70 and 80
while paraphonic also do some decent sounds. I am going to do a siel
symphony You have thrown down the gauntlet of shame! :-) I must. hehe.
SAVE THE SIELS! :-) -Bob
