Setup time is always there. Just did some scanning. Irfanview was way
to go and with plugins it can spit out single page PDFs already and
then I used ghostscript to convert these to single document.

I advice against using "wrong" intermediate formats like jpg for B&W lineart.

Also, if using TWAIN software to access scanner all the cropping
should be done it.
