What about a monostable multivibrator such as CD4538.
Triggering on a rising or falling edge it generates a pulse with a
duration that you can set using a resistor and a capacitor.
Choose CD4538 or 74HC(T)4538, depending on what is most convenient
regarding power supply voltage and signal levels.
