[sdiy] Sliders and envelopes

As a DAC for ADSR's you could consider MCP4725A0T-E/CH which is a very 
cheap 12-bit serial DAC (1.22 EUR at Farnell).

Although its absolute accuracy (integral nonlinearity) specs are not 
that good, it has differential nonlinearity of 0.75 bit or less, so it 
is able to output a smooth envelope signal.
