[sdiy] trying to understand appregiators in late 70's synths

It's also one of the best in my opinion :-). Other arpeggiators you
have to hit right on the money or it's train wreck time. Eg. Akai AX60
eg. Korg poly's etc. I have a Jupiter 6 on the bench right now for the
first time and will get to see how it is. No Europa but anyway Roland
definitely did a great thing for 1978 in the JP4. It's one of the
synths I just would hate to lose for that reason and it's amazingly
spacy sound :-) Being the spacy guy I am. Hehe.

Anyway I think there were various other analog sequencers and
arpeggiators before that but not in a polyphonic box. The DS-2 digital
sequencer by Oberheim could be used with the SEM series stuff and so
on. I don't know how the JP8 works either..haven't tried one of those.
I need to fix up my OB8's again. That's one of my goals for this
winter. I didn't use the arpeggiator much on it while I had it running
so I'm not sure how good it is either. But the JP4 is MONEY. :-) -Bob
