[sdiy] cs15 discrete?

i was disappointed tonight when i opened up the yamaha cs15 schematics and saw that the vcos (and filter) are all chip based.
i used to love my cs15 (sadly i dont have it anymore) and i was thinking about maybe trying to revisit some of that sound i used to really like (compared to my micro moog it was like such a different world...i used both but only gigged with the cs15)

i was wondering if anyone ever figured out what was going on in the chip (and if there is a schematic?)
