[sdiy] Is it just me or does MPLAB really suck??

Hi list, i'm trying to program some PICs here but MPLAB seems to bug out on me *all* the time so it's impossible to do anything intelligent. It being incredibly slow aside, it's also stopping at points where i *don't* have breakpoints and instead not stopping where i want to (hardware debuggin using ICD2).. anyone else experiencing this? What should i do, change environment and language? I'm using MPLAB with MCC18 because it's the only free C w. ide for PIC that i know of... got no money so don't even suggest buying something :)
