Its a ton of money but considering the rarity of this I dont see it as *too* 
much. Try to find a vintage grand piano or violin for that price, its the 
very reasonable when you compare to some other instruments. People go nuts 
over a cs-80 for $8,000 but its really chump change in music terms.
