the former. it looks like neither Mouser nor Digikey carry the Future 
stuff, but the Kester 245 (MOTM no-clean IIRC) comes in recommended 
by all. i'll probably just go with that.

btw i *was* under the impression that certain flux types really 
didn't like water. seems i was mistaken.
