[sdiy] mixing solder types

I use a cotton bud (Q-Tip) soaked in IPA. Never had any problems and  
it cleans
all of the flux residue easily. I would not advise cleaning pots,  
trimmers etc by
immersing in water. Having said that, if you spill anything like coke  
or coffee
into equipment you really need to wash it as it will cause all sorts  
of problems.
If you do get water into anything, use a hairdryer or similar to help  
dry it out
quickly.
