Best version for audio applications would be to use a different opamp!
Perhaps an NE5532 or OPA2134 or OPA2132 (in order good to better).
There are also even better audio opamps which are more expensive.
However, it all rather depends what you mean by 'audio'. If you are
talking about a full, detailed audio signal and you want hi-end quality,
then I would definitely steer clear of TL072. However for use with
typical audio signals in a modular synth, I don't think it matters -
TL072 is probably just fine, and any version. Some versions (e.g.
TL072BC) have slightly better input offset voltage specs - but nothing
you're going to care about for audio. Would make a difference for
precision CVs, but then you shouldn't really be using TL072 for this anyway.
