[sdiy] Ibanez AD-202 analog delay's

Hello,
 
I have 2 Ibanez AD-202 analog delay's on my bench. I finally got hold of the
maintenance guide and schematics. So time to dive into these units.
They both kind of work. The first one only has a scratching 'tone' pot, easy
to fix. The second one has a hard clipping noise, but this noise doesn't
seem 'delay' related.
Anyway,  my question is, should I first re-calibrate this second unit?
Should I fix the first one and do a point to point comparison? 
All pointers appreciated.
