good progress on the arduino synth module. digital and analogue I/O
works and MIDI input works. the scaling on the analogue is not
perfect but it's good enough for the moment. if/when i do the PCB
i'll include trimmers in all the important places.
so far the module has run an audio frequency square wave oscillator,
AR envelope generator, and the MIDI to CV that's now in the files
section of the group. it provides a decently tracking pitch CV over
about 4 octaves, a velocity CV, and a clock pulse derived from MIDI
clock, the division of which is variable between 24ppqn and 0.25ppqn
via a front-panel pot. in the final design there should be a switch
to turn off the analogue I/O biasing, so that the full analogue
output voltage range can be used for pitch and CV etc. also there
might be a switch to AC couple the analogue outs.
the MIDI input is on a switch, flip it one way for MIDI, and the
other way to upload sketches. it's interesting/funny that the sketch
is still running for a few seconds during the upload, so it can
potentially play wonky melodies out of the CV outputs :-)
now i'm waiting for a panel from FPE so i can do the final pieces -
MIDI output, the remaining 3 pots, two switches, two LEDs, and the
USB jack etc.
comments/flames welcome.
