Someone else says it's ex-telecomms, but I don't think it's ringing - I 
believe that's done by switching 90V @ 25Hz to the line.  At least that 
was the old UK system.

All will be made clear when I get the pickup hooked up and working - 
I'll post a WAV to my site.

And then I'll find out what it sounds like passed through stomp boxes, a 
synth and other things.
