Hi Folks

I have this thing:

...which I plan to use as a tone source.

In the long term, I plan to use the original lamp and photocell but in
the short term, I just want to rig something simple so I can hear what
it sounds like.

LED goes on one side of the disc, phototransistor on the other. What
I'm not sure about is the circuit I should use. I figured to have a
load resistor between the collector and B+ and a capacitor connected to
the collector, then run the other end of the capacitor and ground
(connected to the emitter) to an input of my mixer.

Would it be that simple or do I need more in the circuit - and if so, what?

Cheers

M
