[sdiy] 40106 lfo vs. opamp lfo

Ok

this is most likely something to do with the peak to peak voltage of the waveform but here is my question

I am working with a +/- 13700 VCF with a cv Input ( ala the EFM vcf1 cv in)

it works great. and when i plug in my cgs utility lfo or really, any other module into the CV in, i get great modulation!

BUT when i try to hook up a 40106 based Lfo (with a transistor buffer on the output) i get almost no modulation unless i turn the cutoff way down and the res way up.

so...is the P to P voltage of the +15/gnd powered 40106 lfo just too weak? do i need to add gain? or offset?

any advice appreciated. OR i could ditch the 40106 for any other single chip cmos circuit.

thanks so much
