I assume that the more bits you insert the smother/mellow
it will sound up to a certain point of bits. And as
pointed out a square wave of any bit width sound the
same but every other wave does not.

But Andres said 256 point wave and filter fully open!?

So the difference between a 7 bit and a 8 bit wave 
if the 7biter are negated into a 8bit bipolar can
hardly make such a difference in sound except for
more detail?!
