[sdiy] Market prices on components are shifting drastically!

Recently i have noticed some odd stuff for example the only difference
between lets say a 32bit MCU and 8bit MCU are the pin count! Price in
units of 10 are almost the same!!
For example one the suppliers i use charges 4euro for the latest MCHP 32
bit'er and 3.9euro for a modest 8bit AVR or a similarly speced 8bit MCHP
device. So the point in using 8biters are about zero!
So when that has established im only waiting for a 32 biter materialize
in a so14/so16 package! Please include 1MB dram to dear manufacturer while
your at it!
The other odd thing are that simple quality knobs and rotary swithces
cost more then these same 32biters. Reason i assume are that volume
sale must have dropped significantly? But pots are about the same! Odd?
Third, PCB manufacturing prices has gone up. The price today on a given
area of a dubble sided smd only are many times higher then the same area from mid 80'ies using trough hole only! So manufacturing cost are lower
today but area are smaller due to SMD so manufacturers raises pricing
to compensate.,Oh well, it's also very anoying this electrical test
these crocks are trying to up-sell me into for basic single and double
sided layers! (excluding extras as pollution and other state affairs cost)
Oh, and yes i got a info paper the other week from my 220V AC mains
supplier stating they are now going to raise Kw hour price because
their campaign in telling people to save power has been so successful.
Less demand, higher price! Polute the planet or not, get filthy rich
either way!
Thanks for reading my rant!
