ok, first.,I know I could just refer to the schematics and COUNT by hand all the parts i need to populate a board.
but lets say you have the board designs, and they are all done and you need to generate a CLEAR ordering list(4x 100k resistor, 2x .01uf caps, etc) .for manufacturing, kitting, etc, is there a dead simple way to generate a BOM from a partslist file (.prt such as OSMOND outputs)?
like a script that can just pull out all the parts that are in parentheses, total them up, look for the same values that get repeated, and put out a BOM document that I can give to a manufacturing house?
or is this something that always just has to be done by hand?
thanks so much
(sitting here trying to count up all the parts i need to populate a bunch of boards tomorrow)
