[sdiy] a work in progress, why I haven't been around here much

First the work in progress:

which is still unfinished -- I need to add some pictures at least.

That's been taking up the better part of my time for much of this year,  that 
and the aftermath.  And I've been doing a bunch of re-ordering of priorities 
and such.

As much as I like hanging out in here I'm not thinking that I'm ever likely to 
build myself a synth,  not like I'd been thinking before,  anyhow.  Even if 
there are a bunch of fairly knowledgeable folks in here,  and even if I've 
learned a bunch from some of you guys...

We'll see how it goes.

In the meantime I'm looking at close to 5900 unread posts that have piled up 
in here since April,  and I need to plow through them and make a decision as 
to where my participation in here goes from that point.
