Sharp makes a chip that can can be useful for this, I made a synth
controller module using it in my digital electronics class. It needs a
pic and and some c code to make it interface properly with the control
voltage wold, but was pretty cool. I can dig it out and give you the
part number and probably find the code for it if I remember to look
hard enough. It was actually a pretty cool module, a bit buggy though
as I had zero knowledge of pic coding and my profesor was rusty to say
the least, but the bulk of the work is there. I have the schemos and
everything if anyone is interested. Much more than a volume control,
it did alot more.
