Of course, my design owes a lot also to Roman Sowa's design 
( http://www.sowa.synth.net/modular/vco4mod.html ).  
His success indicates good exponential curve and DC performance 
of SSM2164.  (Thank you very much, Roman.)

SSM2164 was not available for me in those days, but several years 
ago, I could buy some from T. Katayama, and began a new design.

As is mentioned in Roman's site, SSM2164 itself is not so sensitive
to temperature.  It may have heating function.  But I cannot believe 
the heater is perfectly controlled, because the datasheet explaines 
about the temperature coefficient.
