[sdiy] Can your *really* teach "Engineering"?

True.

Though, when I watch TV I tend to watch stuff with an engineering or
scientific focus. Discovery, History Channel, National Geographic,
etc. My shining moment was back when I worked for a company that made
coal mining machinery and one of my projects got featured in a Modern
Marvels ep. They interviewed my boss. I kept asking him to throw in a
line about the engineering team but either he didn't or it got cut
from the ep. That's probably the closest I'll ever get to being on TV.

If you aren't an engineer already Episode 5 of the miniseries "From
the Earth to the Moon" will make you want to be one. It documents
Grumman and their design for the Lunar Module and all the blood sweat
and tears the engineers there put into making it work. Those are the
type of guy (or gal) every engineer should aspire to be.
