Yes, buy a MC cart and leave the preamp as is. MC carts sound way better
than MM carts. They are spendy, but worth it if your serious about getting
the most out of the vinyl format. MM preamps are common and cheap. You can
even build one if you want. I have 2 Denon MC carts that are used for
critical listening and transferring to CD. Since the stylus is not user
replaceable, I try to not put many miles on them. I have a box full of
Shure/Pickering/AT/Stanton/etc. MM carts for everyday use.
