The E&MM Spectrum has a sync control that runs from 0 to 100% That really just sets the pulse-width of a wave that is then AND-ed with the incoming sync pulse. So sync only occurs if the slaved oscillator is in the first n% of its cycle. You can hear an mp3 demo of it from my Spectrum projecgt page:
