I have borrowed some of my frequency counters to a company, after some
rebuilding the electrician fucked up royally and the ground hookup got
loose, and 230 VAC became 400 VAC and one of my babies got toasted.
Luckily the PSU could be replaced as they had just one exakt lying
around. So that sad story turned up OK. However, we agreed on one
thing... the basic order one treat measurement instruments one has just
received:
1) Open it up and check it out, repair the fault of not having done it.
2) Use it.
3) Possibly ponder over the manual, but it isn't really necessary.
Oh, the guy I talked to designs measurement instruments. :)
My counter seems OK now, but I think I must do the exercise to open that
box up, since's I haven't "repaired" it. :)
This counter weigths in as a fair size modular in price, so we where a
bit nervous about it.
