Modelling the circuits in software often requires as much or more 
understanding of the operation of the circuit. You have to understand what 
each part of the circuit does and what nonidealities it has.
That's fun for me at least.

It's also much easier when you're living in a small apartment where you 
just don't have room for a good workshop.
