Actually, I like those Mellotron and early 1980s short-sample voices. 
They sort-of sound real on their own.

...and not a short-sample. There's nothing more tiresome than listening 
to one of those wonderfully sampled pianos. You need a piano? Get a real 
one. Even a budget-price piano will sound better than a badly sampled 
expensive one if that is not obviously used as a synthetic instrument of 
its own but rather a bad imitation of the original.

While that is true, I must admit that I'm somewhat allergic to MP3. Even 
when listened to through proper amp/speaker, I cannot do that for long 
as I start feeling uneasy.

Not sure what specifically triggers that, as it doesn't appear with MP2 
and ATRAC.
