[sdiy] Are (commercial) synth repair topics OT here?

I don't think they're very off-topic. It's a fine line between  
repairs and upgrades or customization (sometimes as little as a  
component value) and customization is clearly an SDIY topic, so I  
reckon repairs are close enough.

Ultimately, as long as it's interesting to people here, I don't  
suppose we'll mind if it isn't strictly "DIY".

Like you, I'd ask here too, simply because I know I'll get an  
informed answer to questions that don't stand a chance of getting  
answered anywhere else!
