There is not much anymore. Radio Shack is usually your best bet.
There is also You-Do-It Electronics in Needham (which is a little
bit of a drive from Worcester). I think you are better of at the Shack.

I believe the intent is to provide an easy way to buy/sell/trade parts in
the Boston area and to provide help with projects.

Tomorrow is the MIT Swap (Cambridge). This is held the third Sunday of
each month
from April through October. April  and October are the best ones.

There is also the Boston dorkbot group. Post questions, part requests,
etc.
