For me it sounds like this chip could be compatible to the Maxim MAX456.

I once bought a video matrix ISA-card that had this chip in DIL mounted...
At least the PLCC package (Intersil only has the PLCC package - Maxim also a DIL40 version) seems to have the same pinning.
The maxim version only has a lower bandwidth - which doesn't hurt for Audio processing...
So maybe you could compare the chips if they are compatible and if yes you could check if Maxim has some tips too.
