I agree that it would be beter to use the contacts to drive logic, and 
isolate the contacts from the CV side of things.

But, if a very high impedance circuit is used, it should be possible to use 
even crappy conductive rubber contacts to pick off a voltage. Because if the 
current through the contact is negligible, so is the voltage drop. Though 
you are leavingyourself open to noise pickup.
