[sdiy] PC USB scopes?

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I'm relatively new to the list. I've wanted to mount a scope to the modular before I even had one. But assembling and modding modules, I've realized it's time to get a proper scope for testing.

How are the PC scopes? Currently, I don't plan to use it for anything more than testing/calibrating MOTM, Oakley, JH, etc. modules (and occastionally to "see the sound"). How much is enough as far as samples? Bandwidth? I could seek out a used analog scope, but it just seems ideal to use a USB scope with the notebook and have the easy convenience of capturing on the computer. 2 channels seems like a must. Am I missing something? I'd love to get a really nice one, but somehow I feel it's just unnecessary for my needs. But I don't really know what those needs are. Should I avoid PC scopes and go with a dedicated digital scope? Should I stick with analog? New or used?

I've read lots, but real world advice is what I'm looking for. Any advice would be appreciated...
