Ian,

   :-) you fell into the trap.

The problem isn't the software, it's the user interface.

Here, I'm with you 110%.

I love my Chameleon, it lets me try ideas that would take me wakes to  
build in hardware and cost me a fortune in parts. but I *LOATHE* the  
UI, 3 knobs and a crappy 2*16 LCD is just utterly insane!

The synth can have the most fantastic synth engine, but if the UI  
sucks, it's just never gonna get used properly. Additive synthesis and  
FM synthesis both suffer enormously because of this.

what the world needs a decent UI's for synths, be they analogue,  
digital, dsp or software, it's all about control.
