I don't think you really need shielded cables.
4 thin wires to the cw ends of the pots, summing resistors soldered to each 
wiper pin,
and a bus for GND and the summing node ... summing node passive, with 40 22k 
resistors from 40 10k log pots, and a single 100 Ohm resistor from summing 
node to GND. Then, from this summing node, *one* connection with shielded 
wire, to a microphone input of the mixing console - that would do it!

(I still have a couple of String Filter boards left, but not many.)
