Doepfer != eurocard. To the best of my knowledge there is no modular
synthesizer manufacturer making modules that adhere to the IEC-60297-3
or IEEE 1101.x standards.
If Seb wishes to maximize sales he needs to sell it to the broadest
market. That would be Doepfer, MOTM, Frac, Moog, Modcan, and Wiard in
order of popularity. While there aren't as many DIYers doing Doepfer
format as the other formats, there are more folks selling modules in
Doepfer format than the others (possibly all the others combined). This
includes Plan B, Livewire, Analogue Solutions, Analogue Systems,
Cwejman, MFB, Harvestman, Make Noise, Elby, STG, and more.
I personally am not a big Doepfer format fan. Mostly because I hate the
power connectors. I now have 9U of Doepfer compatible rackspace and I'm
slowing building that format up as many modules that I desire are only
in that form factor.
