the VCO works by SYNCING to the input.
there are a few different ways the guitar can be processed.
it can go through the dividers, or it can go through simply as audio, which then gets ADSR'ed and filtered.
or it can be ring modded
or it can go SYNC into the VCO either as a regular squared up audio signal, or as an octave up or octave down divided signal...which can have long sustain through the sample and hold
