"No chance" should mean "difficult" :)

Years ago, I had a pre-release PCB software which had save capability,
but no print. I worked out the (binary) file format, and wrote my own
print engine for it (which had more facilities than the one they
provided in the full release version).

However, I wouldn't want to do it when you can't save (it's a matter of
"add a bit, what does the file now look like?"). Having said that, I did
reverse engineer the Corel Draw font format when I had no way to create
them myself - that was a matter of "this bit looks like a lot of
offsets, each one pointing to a series of coordinates".
